CookTech is operated by Cook Technology Corp., a Florida corporation headquartered in Jacksonville, FL. This notice covers information we collect from visitors, applicants, and active tech-owners.

From visitors

  • Aggregated analytics only. No cookies, no cross-site tracking.
  • Inbound contacts are purged within 12 months if you don't apply or go active.

From applicants

When you submit the application form, we collect: name, contact info, licenses held, vehicle info, and the work history you provide. We verify identity and, with your written consent, run a background check appropriate to the role.

Background check disclosure.

By submitting the application, you authorize CookTech (and its background-check provider) to verify identity, work history, driving record, and criminal history where permitted by law. You will receive a separate written disclosure and summary of your rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act before a consumer report is obtained. You can withdraw consent at any time before the check runs, and request a copy of any report obtained about you.

From active tech-owners

  • Onboarding paperwork: I-9, W-9 or W-4, direct-deposit, certifications, insurance certificates.
  • Dispatch data: job tickets, closeout photos, time on site, client acceptance.
  • Pay records: earnings, reimbursements, 1099/W-2, as required by federal and Florida law.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell applicant or owner data.
  • We don't share owner pay data with clients.
  • We don't share a tech's performance metrics with other techs unless you explicitly opt in to a peer leaderboard.

Retention

Applicant files that don't become hires are purged within 12 months. Active tech-owner records are retained for the duration of the relationship plus the period required by tax, labor, and insurance law (typically 7 years).

Your rights

Email website@cooktech.us to request access, correction, or deletion of your data. We respond within 30 days. Florida residents have additional rights; we'll honor them.

Security

Form data is transmitted over TLS. Sensitive records (I-9, background checks, tax forms) are stored in access-controlled systems behind SSO with mandatory MFA for administrators.
